GRACE was almost ready to leave when Jerry arrived after dinner. Her brother had offered to take her to the airport for her morning flight and it would be easiest if she slept at his house in Oshawa. Paradise Park was a long way from Pearson International.

“Hey, Gracie, are you ready for the big celebrity tour?” Jerry grabbed her in a hug when he came through the door.

“I’m not a celebrity, Jerry. I go to each store and sign the books. That’s all it is.”

He kissed her cheek before letting her go. “You’re the only celebrity I know.”

“Me too,” said Rob. “How about a beer?”

“Sure,” said Jerry, “tell me what’s going on with the shop.”

Rob got the beer while he told his brother-in-law the details of the tender for the town.

“Hope you get it, man. That would be a great start for the business and steady work for two or three guys.”

“Yeah, I hope I priced it right. Hogan looked it over and thought it was about right and he’s worked in a few shops.”

When it was time to leave, Grace tucked Joey into bed and kissed him goodbye. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she walked out of his room. “I hate leaving him,” she whispered to Rob.

Rob held her close and kissed her. “I hate that you’re leaving me for two weeks, but we’ll be fine.”

“If Rob needs help with Joey, Kate will pick him up,” said Jerry. “Stop worrying, Grace. Go and sell a thousand books.”

Grace kissed Rob again. “I love you greatly, Robbie. I’ll miss you.”
